Yesterday was a very nice day....

The sun was shining, the breeze was blowing, and the dogs were all well and happy.

First, the dogs had a good sniff around the yard:

Lucy and Charley enjoying fine fall weather

Then Lucy went back to bed, where she just lounged around:

And lounged around:

And lounged around some more:

Making silly faces:

Charley and Sadie were moping:

So we went down to the beach:

Where we saw flamingos in the sky:

Flamingos Dancing:

At the end of a kite being flown by a senior woman:

I need to take a page from her book - I have a kite or two, I love kite flying, but I always feel self-conscious flying it by myself. I wouldn't choose this park as it is small and surrounded by powerlines, but the estuary at Swallowfield would be a great place for kites!

Back home, I puttered on the patio and discovered a late crop of strawberries:

And made a Green Tomato Cake (which turned out dry as dust) with my left over tomatoes:

And after serving Lucy's third of five meals and taking her outside again, I walked over to Else's for good food, good company, good wine (Thanks, Else - it was yummy!). Came home and vegged out in front of the TV for the rest of the evening.

And Lucy and pups let me sleep through the night.

Now THAT is a very good day.

Ha ha - how true, Janice. The number of times I throw out scraps, veggie trimmings, stale bread and think "I need a pig!"
(Okay, maybe I think something more like "Too bad Hearts on Noses isn't closer - I know some piggies who would like this!")
