A quick Head's Up

I just dumped a half bottle of water all over my computer. If you don't see any new posts in the next several days, it means I fried the darn thing. A new one is not in the budget for a very long time.

Is it a desktop & it's just your keyboard? If so, just unplug it & either dry out or replace. Keyboards are very inexpensive & it's good to have a spare.

If it's a laptop - hmmm. You need to dry it out. Depending on how much spilled, you may need to pop it into a shop where they'll disassemble it & put all the pieces in front of a fan to dry out.

For other, smaller electronics btw, such as cell phones, cameras, handheld gaming consoles - wipe up as much as you can & put them in a bag with raw dry rice. Seal it up & wait patiently. I've heard this work for items that were well & truly submerged. I'd wait a week before removing it from the rice & trying to turn on.

Good luck!

Oh dear! Frazzled puppy foster mom syndrome!

This post came through okay. Was it just your keyboard? Leave it to dry and it should be okay. Maybe even try a hair dryer (gently)...

Oh Jean, you are a saint. I haven't posted much lately 'cause I've been so screamin' busy with "stuff", but I've been keeping an eye on your blog and today I caught up on the last few days' posts. You deserve a medal! Please keep your chin up, except when you've got it down so you can keep looking after all those critters, and keep your eyes on the prize: only a few more weeks of puppy business to go (if you survive, that is). Maybe then Charley will smile again.

Sending encouraging vibes your way from the mainland,
Deb S. and crew

Well, it is working at the moment, though I've been told it can take a few days before any remaining moisture destroys the innards. It is a laptop (my only computer) and I turned it upside down right away, then left it "tent-like" by a fan.
I am leaving it turned off and near a fan as much as possible today, so don't expect a new blog entry. If you need a puppy fix, scroll to the entry below with all the cute, cute, cute puppy pixs - or better yet, come over and look after them for me.
