Nine delivered so far - seven boys and two girls - but I can feel at least one more in there. Lucy is sound asleep so I am just letting her rest and will check back on her every half hour or so. She seems to have a few, then rest for a couple of hours, then have a few more.
But to satisfy your curiousity, here's a photo of her with the first nine:

They are beautiful and so is she
Look at all that brindle... Wow!
What a lovely pic of the new family. Thanks Jean for posting it.

Poor girl. Too many puppies. She must be exhausted.
Gail
Awww...sweet girl, no wonder she's exhausted. That's a lot of babies already!
OMG.
My thought exactly Gail. She must be exhausted. Good job Lucy and hopefully now you can rest.
Great picture of Mom and the pups Jean.

Aww poor Lucy..So many puppies..I am so glad she is with you Jean..She looks so tired with all the puppies..Gentle kisses for the new mom..
beautiful!!! she looks so at peace all asleep and such...what a wonderful picture!
the best part! Sleepy babies with their first full tummies!
Has Lucy eaten anything since she started? My girls always appreciated a few slurps of warm chicken soup, a small mouthful of shaved beef or something for a bit of energy.
Looks like her maternal extincts kicked in :)
She has had lots of water to drink, and I let her eat a few of the afterbirths (as per the vet's advice) - I think she's too tired for anything else, but the chicken broth is a good idea and I have some homemade chicken broth (health stuff, not full of sodium!) in my freezer. Thanks for the idea.
Congrats to Lucy for a FULL day's work. Hope you're able to get some sleep, Jean. Good job to all. Wish I lived closer so I can help play with the pups. :-)
what a beautiful big family!
Do you think she's done now? I really hope so for her sake, she looks exhausted!
Wishing for a good sleep for momma and foster momma!
How are Charlie and Sadie and Allie doing?
She is still having contractions, and I believe I can feel at least one more, possibly two in there. She is sooo tired, I hope she can get them out okay.
Sadie, Allie and Charley have been AMAZING all day. I thought they would be pestering me at the mudroom door, but it's like they know what's going on and they have just be quietly snoozing in the living room.
we send our best wishes to the tired momma and coaches, and hope things continue to go well for all. am very excited to see more pics of miss lucy and her babies. what a great job you have all done! we have been following, and when my boyfriend told me a pic was up i couldn't get to the computer fast enough! so happy to see lucy doing well. -sarah
Number ten arrived at 11:15 - a little girl.
OMG!
10 puppies... They look very healthy.
How are YOU doing?
It is now midnight, and Sue has just gone home. As near as we can tell, Lucy is finished - ten pups (seven boys, 3 girls). Her abdomen is relaxed and I don't think I feel any more pups in there (there is one somewhat hard area but I think it is just her internal organs). She has gone into a sound sleep now.
I am going to have a well-deserved small glass of scotch (nothing too much in case there are more to come!) and then try to catch three hours sleep before checking her again. It has been a looooong day!
This is the last post/comment for tonight. More photos and news tomorrow.
YAY for Lucy and for you too!!! I can almost smell the puppy breath from here!!! Hope you all get a well deserved rest!
I've been following your wonderful blog for a while now and could never seem to get logged in....
today I decided that if little Lucy could deliver 10 puppies I could figure this out!!!!!
Gentle kisses from my boxer dogs to all!!
Thanks for the photos Jean! Her pups are beautiful!! Hope she stopped at 10, as wow that's a big enough litter, isn't it?!?
Jen and the black dog crew
What a night Jean for both you Sue and lucy. 10 babies.. my my myyyyyyyyyy
Well, I'd say your profile description ("I live with my two senior dogs...") just became pretty irrelevant! Life will certainly become an adventure for the next few months!
What a brood! Congrats to the new mom and her helpers. I hope you got some decent sleep last night (even with occasional checks for #11...).
Congratulations to Lucy, Jean, Sue and to Sadie, Charley and Allie as well. The household will be an even more lively one for quite some time to come.
And, as I said to puppy #1, "Welcome to the world," puppies #2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, and 10! You sure are beautiful! No wonder your Mom's belly was so huge.
Great photo, Jean! You have done an absolutely outstanding job of helping these little ones get off to a good start, and of keeping your blog readers posted.
