MISTY HAS BEEN FOUND!!!!!!!

After a week on the run, and several sightings and close calls with traffic, Misty has been found. At first I heard that it was late last night by a driver who saw her running along the highway, stopped, called her and she came to the woman. Later that was updated and it looks like she was actually found by someone walking the dikes pretty close to the airport where she went missing - a woman who saw the posters last night walked the dikes again this morning, saw a black speck in the distance, knew it was Misty, called Misty’s name and she came running.
Either way, instead of bolting this time, Misty made the decision to trust and came when she was called. Jim is on his way to pick her up - and what a happy reunion that will be.

I have tears of joy on my face today. Would that every lost dog could have such a happy ending. May the good samaritan who took the time to either stop their vehicle and coax a scared, lost dog to safety, or who took the time to read the posters, call her name and bring her to safety.... may that good samaritan be blessed a thousand fold. You are truly one of the gems of this world.

Thank you Jean for your blog, and all the wonderful animal lovers who have been so supportive. It has been a miracle that Misty has come home. She was spotted by Ellen last night by Kanaka Creek at the Haney bypass. We searched the woods and tracks too no avail. After spending six days in this area after Ellen spotted her she must have run all night and went about 12 miles west on the CP main line to the exact area where she originally took off on the dykes. She came to a special angel by the name of Lynn, who had seen Misty's poster the night before and called her. She came right to her and then Lynn called me and left me a message that I had prayed for. Misty is safe! She has lost a lot of weight and her front paws had part of their pads worn right off. Misty had a strong survival instinct, our human animal bond was strong, and we never gave up hope. There is a special man (Gerald) in Haney that helped me on Saturday and I called him but seem to have the wrong phone number. Gerald I will be in touch.
Thank you to all that helped, gave encouraging words, thoughts and prayers. There are truly good people all around us and miracles do happen! All the best.

Jim, thank you for posting! I know Gerald (was talking to him this morning via email) and will let him know you would like him to contact you.

Give Misty a hug from all of us!
