One last call for sponsors

When I first posted about the SPCA Paws for a Cause walk that Sadie and I are participating in, it seemed like such a long way away. And now it is nearly time- this Sunday is the big day.

Sadie and I thank everyone who has donated so far. We reached our initial modest goal of $200 very quickly, and so we doubled it to $400. And as of tonight we are 81% of the way to fulfilling that goal – and we'd love to surpass it! So, if you haven’t already done so, please consider sponsoring us in this very important fundraiser.

In my lifetime, I’ve adopted numerous animals from the SPCA. At the moment, both Sadie and Allie are with me today because the SPCA was there to offer them shelter.

One of the things I like about this fundraiser is that all the money I raise will stay in my community benefitting the Cowichan Valley (Duncan) SPCA where I will be volunteering this fall. This particular branch is very special to me because they not only have a wonderful staff and volunteer group, but they also sheltered and loved my Caleb from the time he was found in November 06 until I adopted him in May 07. When Caleb passed away of cancer in February 08, they grieved with me. The fact that they had sheltered this precious pitti cross for many months speaks for itself –they are a patient, caring, and dedicated group of people who do the very best they can to ensure the animals in their care receive everything they need to meet their physical, behavioural and emotional needs. And it is only through donations like yours that they are funded to continue this work.

So please, head over to my personal fundraiser page by clicking right here and make a donation today. A tax receipt is automatically generated for online donations. It is a very worthy cause.

Sadie and I thank you for your support.

I am sponsoring you in spirit! My vet bills this month have emptied our meager coffers and more vet bills loom (for my treasured Mama Pajama - I haven't been able to write about it).
And the Director of Nursing hasn't had time to work me into the schedule yet, so I'm unemployed still. Sigh.
All this is to tell you how much I'd like to contribute in actuality instead of in spirit.

good for you!

Thanks Patience. My thoughts are with you and the Waggle, and especially with Mama Pajama.
My whippet buddies, Kinley and Cisco, are coming to visit in another ten days, so stay tuned for happy whippet photos to make you smile a little.
