Still here

Still here, still tired, still taking a sabbatical from just about everything (including blogging it seems).  I have been working in the yard a bit, reading a bit, watching garbage on tv a bit, sleeping a bit (though not as much as I'd like), writing a bit, and playing with the new-to-me camera a bit.  I took this shot on my patio at night, trying out some new settings and lenses.  I'm pretty happy with it, but can't for the life of me remember the name of the plant.  Two hours thumbing through gardening books and surfing the net hasn't left me any the wiser.  Can someone enlighten me? It is a perennial, grows about three feet tall on long stems with paired leaves along the length and rows of these flowers hanging along the underside of each stem.

I don't know the name of the plant, but it sure is a beautiful photograph. If no one else responds, you may want to try this UBC gardening forum. They insist they are here to help and have identified several plants for me.

The only thing I can think of is snowdrops. But I suspect if it was that simple, you'd know the answer.

Thank you for taking the time to write your insightful comment in support of our "situation". I feel almost an activist lol. A bit uncomfortable for timid me.

You know, you should work for your tourism board. No wonder you love your home so much. What on earth am I doing in overcrowded, aggro Sydney?!

I guess by now you will know who won AI. I couldn't watch it live as I was at the doctor's but will sit down with The Other Half tonight. Was it Philip? DON'T TELL ME! Haha :) x

Solomon's Seal! Yes, thanks Cathie (and also my neighbour Mary who tells me the botanical name is Polygonatum odaratum).

GLP - Re AI - by now you know....I think Jessica was the better singer, and Joshua the best of all (singer and performer), but then I'm not a teenage American girl and as the show itself acknowledges, they are the ones voting. And so ends my brief sordid affair with garbage tv (is there any other kind?) for yet another year. Time to get out and garden!
