This is the bed. It has been Charley’s bed ever since she was a puppy - over twelve years:
This is the evil cat who has suddenly, after eight years of living with the dog, decided the bed should be hers:
Charley politely asks her to move, using a gentle nudge of her long collie nose:
And this is the response she gets:
Charley asks for Royal Intervention from Princess Belle:
This is the end result:
This scenario took place three days ago. Allie has continued to lay claim to the bed ever since.

Oh dear! It seems that Charley was just getting the bed good and broke in for little Miss Kitty!
"Dogs have masters. Cats have staff."
LOL Oh no poor Charlie!! Me thinks a new bed for zee cat is in order!! Perhaps bunk beds?? lol
Upon meeting little miss Allie - it was abundantly clear that although she is the smallest member of the family she definitely has the most power !!
LOL - Poor Charley !! LOVE Allie's facial expression - you know what she is thinking without a doubt.
A great photo story for us followers Jean. :o)

Oh, how well I know that look! My dogs are not nearly so gentle in their "requests" for the cat to move. Bella has gone so far as to stuff her nose under Scout and flip her off the bed. Roscoe just plops down on top of Scout.
This causes a major ruckus complete with yowling, chasing, and claws. The end result is often the cat in the bed and the dogs sulking on the floor. Just the way it started. LOL
Poor Charley.
I think she needs a new bed, Jean.

I think the cats of this world are plotting to take over!
We are facing the same dilemma at our house, dogs on the floor, cats on the dog beds. And all the talking/tempting/pleading in the world is not making a difference.
They're taking over I say!
