I too had a turtle, in fact, a couple of them -- Horatio and Horatio II --who he helped me choose and that I managed to kill in fairly short order. He and I went to the livestock auction together regularly (gasp in horror at the thought now, then just a fun outing) and he taught me to bid. That's where my guinea pig Harold, the Methuselah of guinea pigs who lived to be more than 10 years old, came from. He bought me my horse Duke, a horse who was with me through thick and thin till his death at the age of 30. I too, was the youngest, helped my dad build things, learned to be "handy" from him. Some days I really miss him even though he's been gone for many, many years now, and reading your blog, this was one of them. Thank you for making me remember how much I loved my dad.

DebAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4041437999194031830.post-45100506890033985472008-12-14T10:51:00.000-08:002008-12-14T10:51:00.000-08:00That was lovely Jean!That was lovely Jean!Janice Gilletthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02997741046742192330noreply@blogger.com
